1 of Missouri's head-on collisions claims life of 1, injures 2

Any vehicle accident puts drivers and passengers at risk of serious injury and possibly even death. With head-on accidents, the risk of injury is increased because of the fact that the speed from both involved cars are combined. Recently, a 65-year-old man died after being involved in one of Missouri's recent head-on collisions.

The man was traveling on Route A late one evening. It was at this time that another car reportedly veered across the center line and into his lane. The driver of that vehicle was a 26-year-old man from a nearby state.

The driver who crossed the median was transported to a hospital via helicopter. It was noted that he had suffered serious injuries from the motor vehicle accident. The victim in the car that was struck was announced dead when he arrived at a local hospital. There was a 20-year-old passenger in the victim's car who reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Head-on collisions in Missouri often occur suddenly. For that reason, it is hard for drivers to avoid them. After such a tragic and unexpected car accident, victims may be left seriously injured with a pile of medical bills and possibly even a long recovery. In an attempt to deal with the costs that often come with an accident, victims or surviving relatives of victims may wish to consider filing a civil lawsuit. A successfully litigated claim can hold the at-fault party responsible for their actions while providing the victim or the victim's family with compensation to ease their financial burden.
