Woman in killed in 1 of Missouri's recent hit-and-run accidents

Roads in Missouri can be a very dangerous place to be, though many people have to travel them every single day. Hit-and-run drivers contribute to making the roads across the country unsafe, and they are usually prosecuted once they are located. Fortunately, drivers responsible for hit-and-run accidents are often found and criminally charged by law enforcement personnel.

Authorities say that a car rear-ended the vehicle of a 28-year-old woman. The force of the impact caused her vehicle to leave the Interstate. It struck a retaining wall before rolling multiple times, and the woman was then ejected from her car.

Tragically, she was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. Police say that the individual they are currently looking for was in a 2012 Chevy Impala, which the driver allegedly left behind at the scene of the accident. They are currently investigating the accident and searching the car for clues as to why this accident happened and who the driver who caused the crash is.

For those who have been involved or have lost loved ones in hit-and-run accidents, important legal rights may be helpful to them in pursuing claims for financial damages, including to file a wrongful death civil lawsuit. Injured victims who survive an accident can file personal injury lawsuits against those deemed negligent, while families of deceased victims can file wrongful death claims. Upon successful litigation in Missouri, monetary damages may be awarded by a civil court to cover a myriad of economic and non-economic losses. Funeral and burial expenses are recoverable as are lost earnings, medical expenses and related financial losses.
