Motorcycle accidents continue to claim lives; 1 dead after crash

Motorcycles and cars have to share the road every single day. Although the weather is getting cooler, there are still many motorcycles on Missouri roads right now. Therefore, a motorcyclist needs to ensure that he or she is alert and focused on the road ahead. Likewise, drivers in vehicles need to focus on the road while also being on the lookout for motorcycles. When this is not done, it often results in an accident that leaves someone hurt or dead, such as with one of Missouri's recent motorcycle accidents.

The 36-year-old motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Eager Road. At the same time, a vehicle was traveling westbound on the same road. That vehicle attempted a left turn into a shopping center. Unfortunately, the vehicle and the motorcycle collided with one another.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital. However, he was pronounced deceased upon arrival. It was not clear if the other driver was injured.

The crash is currently being investigated, but authorities have not yet determined who was at fault. Reportedly, there was a traffic light at the intersection where the accident occurred. It is not known at this time what color the signal had displayed. When determined, this can go a long way in determining the cause.

Police will continue to investigate this accident until they have determined all aspects of the case, including the exact cause and who was at fault. If the evidence suggests that there was some level of negligence, the family of the motorcyclist may want to seek out their options for a wrongful death claim. The family may find that the jury awards them with financial restitution. While this will not bring their loved one back, it may help relieve the financial burden that was unfortunately left behind due to the untimely loss of their loved one in one of Missouri's motorcycle accidents.
