You have the right to feel safe at work

In Missouri, many employees endure working conditions that are far from ideal. No job is perfect, yet you should still be able to go to work knowing that you can expect fair treatment and a safe working environment. However, even these things are not available to everyone and many workers deal with hostility, hazards and unfair treatment every day of their working lives.

This is unacceptable, and you should not be afraid to stand up for your rights if you feel they are being breached. Of course, this can be daunting as you may be concerned that complaining could cost you your job. However, if your employer fires you for this, you may be able to claim wrongful dismissal and be compensated for your mistreatment.

Even then, it can be hard to know exactly what counts as a breach of your rights and what is worth complaining about. As this article on employment law explains in greater detail, you are not only entitled to fair wages and freedom from discrimination at work, but also to safety. This means that your working environment should not contain toxic materials or dangerous conditions. If such things are present, you should have adequate safety equipment and training to deal with the hazards.

If you believe your rights have been breached in any way or you have any other concerns about your working conditions, an attorney might be able to help you. He or she can examine the problems you face and may be able to advise you as to whether you have a valid case. Furthermore, your attorney might also be able to assist you through the legal process and help you pursue the compensation and fair resolution you deserve.
