Exploring Uber's infamous workplace culture

Many Silicon Valley companies are notorious for their workaholic employees, insane pressure, and demands on employees. Amazon is routinely criticized for demanding extreme commitment from its employees, even to the extent that it requires them to forego child responsibilities. But, it appears, that Uber may take the crown from Amazon as the most demanding workplace environment.

It seems that Uber's relentless pursuit of market share and profit has left many of its employees in a daze and unable to advance or seek the protection Uber should offer. Numerous interviews with former and current Uber employees reveals a twisted work-culture that prioritizes profit and business over the well-being of employees. One manager was caught groping a female employee at a company retreat, and no actions were taken.

Furthermore, a tell-all blog by a former Uber employee details a culture of harassment, in-fighting, and toxic-goal oriented policies that result in a human resources department more concerned with protecting top-flight engineers and managers, than enforcing a safe workplace.

If you believe that you were retaliated against for filing a sexual harassment claim, then you may want to contact an employment attorney ? you could have a valid claim for damages. You a guaranteed the right to a safe workplace, no company, not even Uber, can violate those rights with impunity and get away with it. An attorney can go over your situation and recommend the various legal actions that you can take. It may involve filing a claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or even filing a lawsuit. You don't need to fight this on your own; a lawyer can back you up.
