Unfortunately, car accidents are one of America’s leading causes of injury and death across the country. Car accidents can be caused by a variety of different circumstances, and different types of crashes can occur due to these circumstances. Some of the most dangerous types of wrecks are T-bone collisions because of the damage passengers in both vehicles typically receive. Sadly, the driver of an SUV recently found this lesson out when that person’s vehicle reportedly crashed into a car in Missouri.

Five people were involved in the early morning car crash in which an SUV with three occupants hit a car with two occupants. The car was so badly mangled that the fire department had to get the victims out of the car. One of the occupants of the SUV allegedly tried to run from the scene. It is not reported which occupant tried to leave the scene, nor is it reported whether alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.

As typical in T-bone collisions, passengers in both vehicles sustained injuries. However, the injuries of the victims in the car were much more severe. The victims had to be taken to an area hospital because they had severe life-threatening injuries.

Investigations into the Missouri crash are currently underway, just one of seemingly countless T-bone collisions that occur each year. If the driver of the SUV is indeed found to be at fault for the crash, then the victims in the car might be eligible to pursue a personal injury claim against the driver. However, under the same circumstances, the passenger and other occupant of the SUV may also be able to sue the driver. Personal injury claims can benefit both parties by compensating them for the pain and suffering they have endured as well as the hospital bills resulting from the crash.
